Our Services

Púuna creates creative and cultural experiences for children, young people, carers, families, artists, educators, organisations and communities.

Our work is responsive to place, people and purpose, with every project shaped around the community or organisation we are working alongside.

Professional Development

Creative + Cultural Practice for Early Years
We work with early childhood educators, maternal and child health teams, arts workers and organisations to explore how creativity, culture and relationships can be embedded into everyday practice.

Sessions can include First Nations representation, creative practice, play, cultural resources, storytelling and ways to support children and families as active participants and cultural leaders.

Carers As First Curators

Creative Workshops for the First 1000 Days
Carers as First Curators is a creative and cultural workshop series for carers and babies during the first 1000 days—from conception to around two years of age.

Working alongside artists and communities, participants explore making, food, story, cultural practice and connection.

The program invites carers to reclaim, revitalise and reimagine parenting through their own cultural and creative identities, creating practices and resources that can travel home and become part of everyday family life.

Tailored Creative Workshops

Make. Share. Connect.

We design creative workshops for communities, organisations, festivals, schools and events.

Workshops can include:

  • Weaving and textiles

  • Lei making

  • Coconut weaving

  • Native basket making

  • Jewellery and adornment

  • Collaborative textile works

  • Creative play

  • Cultural resource making

  • Family and intergenerational workshops

  • Team building and creative connection

Every workshop is developed in response to the people, place and context.

Púuna Sanctuary + Playspace

A place to play, create and connect.

Púuna Sanctuary + Playspace is a drop-in creative environment designed for children and young people of all ages—and the adults who care for them.

Inspired by the way children learn through play, sensory exploration, making and relationships, each installation is curated to create different opportunities for babies, children, young people and families.

Experiences can include woven sensory play, tummy-time spaces, felt play, textiles, storytelling, creative making and immersive environments.

The playspace can be adapted for festivals, cultural events, galleries, theatres, libraries and community spaces.
